Metro station "Tretyakovskaya"
The metro station “Tretyakovskaya” is a station of the combined type. It is located between the Oktyabrskaya and Kitay-Gorod stations of the Kaluga-Riga line.
It has two halls, South and North.
The Southern Hall of the station was opened on January 3, 1971. The North Hall began its work on January 25, 1986. Until June 1983, the station was called Novokuznetsk. It received its modern name due to close proximity to the Tretyakov Gallery, located near the station, in Lavrushinsky Lane.
The track walls and pylons of the southern hall are faced with gray marble, the platforms are covered with gray granite. The northern hall is faced with pink marble and decorated with portraits of Russian artists made of bronze by A.N. Burganov.
“Tretyakovskaya” is a three-vaulted deep-laid pylon station located at a depth of 46 meters. The architects of the southern hall project are V.G. Polikarpov and A.A. Marov, the north hall was designed by R.I. Pogrebnoy and V.Z. Filippov.
Zamoskvorechye district is where the station located, it is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Moscow. The main attraction of the area is the Tretyakov Gallery, which contains the world's largest collection of Russian fine art. The gallery has 180 thousand units in storage, representing the most important periods, directions, styles of Russian culture through the eyes of artists from the 12th century to the present day.
